“three…is a magic number” -school house rocks
we just had jack’s 3rd birthday party tonight. it was wonderful, he is so loved – you can’t ask for more as a mother. this birthday is a very real reminder that my baby is no longer that, he is getting bigger and brighter and more joyful daily…i love it, but i can’t stop time – and that is hard to accept at times.
sick baby jack
our little guy got it bad last week. he started throwing up on Saturday night and by Sunday night was in for an over-night at the hospital…what a poor, sweet baby.
felt like a snowman making day…
ken showed jack how to make his first snowman today…
“sometimes i can’t believe it…it’s already passed” -the arcade fire
a lot has happened…here’s my recap. my recap with a note about this year.
christmas happened:
we went to the deangelo’s for christmas day…jack hit the jackpot!
and i hit the jack pot…jacque made pho!
matt, tracey and emery came to bring in the new year!
tracey challenged me to make a list of the 36 things i want to do in my 36th year…this includes my resolution to update my blog monthly – with memories of my family, my baby, my friends, and all of my blessings…enjoy!
fabulous memory…i just never want to forget.
today, ken and jack and i danced our hearts out to “tutti frutti” by little richard – i think it may have been the most precious moment of my life…well, second to last year – about february-ish, when ken and jack and i danced to “if it’s the beaches” by the avett brothers. i love those two moments more than i can express. i just need to say it and write it down so i never forget how fortunate i am to have this joy in my life.
run, run as fast as you can…you can’t catch me i’m the gingerbread man!
jack and i made gingerbread cookies today…he helped every step of the way, and i was more joyous than i ever thought i could hve been on this day. This basic task of making cookies became precious as my little man stood beside me and made gingerbread many many gingerbread men.
we did it!!!
ken and i celebrated our 10 year anniversary last weekend with a trip to pittsburgh. we ran the ikea 1/2 marathon – and we both did it! we had so much fun training and running the race, it was exactly what we needed. now starts me trying to convince ken to do a marathon with me…i think he just might do it!
“it’s better if time stops me from trying…”. -the magic numbers
we just got home tonight and jack fell asleep on me, this has not happened since he was a tiny tiny baby and i am sitting here thrilled.
usually i race home and like a tornado start getting dinner ready, and dogs fed, and jammies on – but tonight I just sit here in total silence with the most precious thing in my life asleep on my lap. sometimes it’s these still, small seconds of life that make you so grateful for all that you have and confident, once again in a God who really knows you and knows that although you are asking for and wanting a million things, what you need right now is a jack sleeping in your arms…
and for now that is all you need.
